Strap on the headphones and sit back

Solitude seeking, Kevin Parker, the man with the vision behind Tame Impala, knew what he was doing when he  created, Innerspeaker. If you have not already heard the 2010 release,  listen quick before the songs are completely ruined by being in commercials for Apple gear and hip hoodies.

Even though, musically, they don’t remind me of the Dandy Warhols, they are going be filed in the same musical category in my brain – perfect for playlists. This is an album that much like Thirteen Tales, will be frequently tapped for playlist gold. That perfect mix of crowd pleasing groves but not ever heard by 90% of the crowed. Add this to your next party playlist and you will feel like John Cusack in High Fidelity when he puts on the Beta Band. Heads will begin to bop in unison and they will be asking, ” who is this man?”

From the outset of the album, “It is not meant to be,” I was totally hooked by the psychedelic, swirling yet somehow effortless and solidly rocking grooves. Tones go from crunchy to glassy seamlessly, creating a super yummy headphone listening experience.
