Last hurrah

Last night at the hi toneLast night, Memphians and Memphis expat’s came out in full force to lament the closing of the Hi-Tone. I would love to tell you that the night was magical, a night full of moments one would never forget, no such luck. It was exactly what the cynical side of me expected and the opposite of my favorite nights at the Hi Tone. The night was spent waiting in lines and being stepped on by aging hipsters in ridiculous hats with armfuls of PBR.

I think the night can be summed up by the fact that about halfway into the openers set, the crowd tore down the balloon drop obviously intended as a big finishing moment…anti-climactic.

I choose to remember the good times and forget the “last night”!
